Research Program

 Dr. Thodiyil has a research interest in the genetic contributions to diabetes and obesity. If you would like to contribute to this research by sharing your family medical history, please contact Dr. Thodiyil’s office.


He has authored 12 book chapters, 11 peer-reviewed papers, and has presented original work at several national and international meetings. He has made seminal contributions in the field of obesity surgery, in particular the areas of high-risk morbidly obese patients and the management of leaks complicating gastric bypass.
